I love to use dyed rice in sensory boxes. Natural rice is just as lovely, but bright, colourful rice can make an activity look really inviting and irrestible to touch.
For many years I have used a food colouring paste to dye the rice as it's so quick and easy but recently I have noticed more and more people using poster paint so I decided to put this to the test.
I dyed three lots of rice using the same method. I used poster paint from Hobbycraft, Sugarflair food colouring paste and a supermarket liquid food colouring.
The results were really interesting and certainly not what I was expecting!
