Preparing for a Baby

Preparing for a Baby

As you will have seen from my social media posts, we are expecting a baby in October! It’s a really exciting (and exhausting!!) time for us!

Mason and Leo are going to be a lovely big brothers and of course we want to prepare them as much as possible. The best way to prepare a child for any new situation is lots of talking, playing and reading books.

We talk a lot about the baby coming, whats it’s going to be like and involving the boys as much as possible with things like building the cot, buying new clothes and talking about baby names. So far all name suggestions have been Paw Patrol related so I’m not sure he will have the final say!! Ha ha!

For a long time Mason and Leo have enjoyed playing with a baby set I bought him for their first birthday. A baby doll with changing bag and a few toys I saved from when he was a baby. Every so often Mason does like to play with ‘Jack’ and will practise caring for him and using the items.

And then for reading stories with the boys I turned to our wonderful playHOORAY! Community for book suggestions. Here are the most common books recommended by fellow parents, carers and educators. Simply click the image of the book for an affiliate link to Amazon.

And I would like to take this opportunity to thank our wonderful playHOORAY! Community for continuing to support both me and the fellow parents in the group. If you would like to join this supportive space just click here!

Happy Playing!
