Eating Out with Kids!

Ahhh can you remember the days when eating out was a treat? I absolutely loved dining out, especially on holiday! Hmmm... it's abit different these days with the kids around isn't it! Trying to keep them entertained and in their seat whilst waiting for their food to arrive. And it's funny how the days before I became a parent I would always think, I will bring my children out for dinner from a young age so they know how to behave in a restaurant. Well...we've eaten out since the early days and still no difference!! (hands in head!) So I think it's time I step in with my playHOORAY! magic to give you some tips and ideas for eating out...

Preparing for Starting School in September

Probably one of the biggest milestones of being a parent is when our babies start school! It’s kind of a big deal, for you and for your child! And perhaps you, like me, are currently going through all of the motions leading up to the big day. You’ve applied for your child’s place, you’ve secured a school and now you are wondering nervously how you can help prepare them for this massive  next step! And because they're household items, you can have them ready before the shows starts so you can join in at home. If you follow the presenters or The Baby Club on social media,...

How To Dye Rice: The Experiment

I love to use dyed rice in sensory boxes. Natural rice is just as lovely, but bright, colourful rice can make an activity look really inviting and irrestible to touch. For many years I have used a food colouring paste to dye the rice as it's so quick and easy but recently I have noticed more and more people using poster paint so I decided to put this to the test. I dyed three lots of rice using the same method. I used poster paint from Hobbycraft, Sugarflair food colouring paste and a supermarket liquid food colouring. The results were really interesting and certainly not what I was expecting! Click the picture below to see what happened.... Happy playing! Claire...

As a family we recently visited Disneyland Paris and oh my goodness what a wonderful time we had! It is such a magical place and really was the holiday of a lifetime. At this point I would like to point out that the trip was paid for and not gifted or an ad! This blog post has been written after several requests for hints and tips for making the trip to Disneyland Paris with young children! Mason is four and loved the whole experience! I felt it was the perfect age for him to go and appreciate it. We travelled to Disneyland Paris by Eurostar which is great as everyone is 'Disneyland ready' and as you can imaging for my...
