Playing with Money

Ahh isn't it funny how kids find our most mundane tasks so interesting! Those everyday tasks we complete and it's so easy to forget our children are watching our every move! Through carefully observing our day-to-day habits, our children learn how to interact with the world. We are their first teachers and they are learning so much from us. Summer Holiday Survival

Visual timetables: Time is a tricky concept to young children so when we are talking about the weeks of the summer holidays or counting down to an event it can help be really useful to help them visualise the days. Try having a weekly calendar with a peg or sticker to mark the days of the week. This also works really well for counting down to holidays or birthdays too!!   Prepare for the day: Some children can find it hard to be ‘off timetable’ they like routine and like to know what is happening. That’s why you can often be asked a hundred times when Grandma is arriving! Therefore something I like to do with Mason in the morning...

Eating Out with Kids!

Ahhh can you remember the days when eating out was a treat? I absolutely loved dining out, especially on holiday! Hmmm... it's abit different these days with the kids around isn't it! Trying to keep them entertained and in their seat whilst waiting for their food to arrive. And it's funny how the days before I became a parent I would always think, I will bring my children out for dinner from a young age so they know how to behave in a restaurant.
