Privacy & Cookies Policy

Last updated: 30 September 2026

Your privacy matters to us.

This Privacy & Cookies Policy explains what personal information we may collect, why we use it, who we may share it with and the choices and rights you have.

The ICO says businesses processing personal information should provide accessible privacy information covering matters including the purposes of processing, lawful bases, recipients and retention. ICO

2. What information we collect

Depending on how you interact with playPROMPTS, we may collect information including:

  • your name and contact details;
  • billing and delivery addresses;
  • email address and telephone number;
  • order and purchase history;
  • payment and transaction information;
  • communications you send to us;
  • information relating to returns, refunds and guarantee claims;

  • device, browser and website-use information; and
  • information collected through cookies, pixels and similar technologies, depending on your choices.

Payment-card details may be handled directly by our payment providers rather than being available to us in full.

Our products are designed for children but are purchased by adults. We don't intentionally ask children to provide personal information in order to use a playPROMPTS pack.

3. Why we use your information

We may use your information to:

Process and fulfil your order — including taking payment, confirming purchases and arranging delivery.

Provide customer service — including answering questions and handling returns, refunds, problems and No Play, No Pay claims.

Operate and protect our business — including maintaining records, preventing fraud, keeping our website secure and complying with legal and accounting obligations.

Understand and improve our website — including understanding how customers interact with playPROMPTS, where permitted.

Measure and improve our advertising — where the relevant technologies are permitted by law and enabled by your choices.

Communicate with you — including essential information relating to your purchases.

If we introduce email marketing in future, we'll update this notice as necessary and make sure the appropriate permission or other lawful basis is in place before using your information for that purpose.

4. Our lawful bases

We only process personal information where we have an appropriate lawful basis.

Depending on what we're doing, this may include:

Contract — where information is necessary to process an order, provide a product or service, arrange delivery or otherwise fulfil our agreement with you.

Legal obligation — where we need to process or retain information to comply with applicable law, accounting, tax or regulatory requirements.

Legitimate interests — where necessary for legitimate business purposes, such as operating and protecting our business, preventing fraud and improving customer service, provided those interests aren't overridden by your rights and interests.

Consent — where consent is the appropriate basis, including certain uses of non-essential cookies, pixels or similar technologies.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we consider the purpose, necessity and impact on people's rights. The ICO describes this as a three-part assessment and recommends businesses document it. ICO

5. Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information.

To operate playPROMPTS, information may be shared with service providers where necessary, including:

Shopify — which provides the ecommerce technology used to operate our online shop.

Shopify Payments, PayPal and Klarna — where relevant to processing your chosen payment method.

Royal Mail and Evri — where necessary to deliver your order.

Google, Meta and TikTok — in connection with analytics, advertising and measurement technologies where applicable and subject to the relevant legal requirements and your cookie choices.

We may also share information with professional advisers, IT/security providers, regulators, law enforcement bodies or other organisations where necessary or legally required.

6. International transfers

Some of the technology companies we use operate internationally, which means personal information may sometimes be processed outside the UK.

Where personal information is transferred internationally, we rely on appropriate mechanisms and safeguards required by UK data-protection law, as applicable to the relevant provider and transfer.

You can contact us if you would like further information about safeguards relating to your personal information.

7. How long we keep information

We don't keep personal information for longer than reasonably necessary.

How long we retain information depends on why we collected it and any legal, accounting, tax, contractual, fraud-prevention or dispute-resolution requirements that apply.

For example, information relating to purchases may need to be retained for accounting, tax and legal-record purposes after an order has been completed.

Where information is no longer reasonably required, we will delete, anonymise or otherwise securely dispose of it as appropriate.

The ICO permits businesses to describe the criteria used to determine retention where a single fixed period isn't appropriate. ICO

8. Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights including the right to:

  • request access to personal information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct inaccurate information;
  • ask us to erase information in certain circumstances;
  • ask us to restrict certain processing;
  • object to certain uses of your information;
  • receive certain information in a portable format; and
  • withdraw consent where our processing relies upon your consent.

You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests in certain circumstances and to object to direct marketing.

Not every right applies in every situation.

To exercise a right, email playprompts.team@gmail.com.

9. Complaints

If you have concerns about how we've handled your information, please contact us first so we can try to resolve the issue.

You also have the right to complain to the UK data-protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

10. Keeping information secure

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure.

We also use established third-party providers to help us operate our ecommerce store and process transactions.

No online system can guarantee absolute security, but protecting customer information is important to us.

11. Cookies, pixels & similar technologies 🍪

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies.

Cookies are small pieces of information stored or accessed on your device. Pixels and similar technologies can perform related functions, such as helping us understand website activity or measure advertising.

We may use:

Strictly necessary technologies — needed for things such as our shopping basket, checkout, security and essential website functionality.

Functionality technologies — used to remember preferences or provide additional website features.

Analytics technologies — including technologies associated with Google, which can help us understand how our website is used.

Advertising and measurement technologies — including technologies associated with Meta and TikTok, which may help us understand the effectiveness of advertising and, where permitted, support relevant advertising.

The specific cookies and technologies used can change as our website, Shopify configuration and installed services change.

12. Your cookie choices

Cookies and technologies that are strictly necessary for our website to function don't require the same consent as non-essential technologies.

Where consent is required, we use our cookie/privacy controls to allow you to make choices about non-essential technologies.

You can reject non-essential cookies and change your preferences using the cookie/privacy settings available on our website.

The ICO's current guidance says websites should tell visitors what cookies do and why and obtain consent for cookies that aren't strictly necessary; consent should be actively and clearly given. ICO

13. Google, Meta & TikTok

Subject to your choices and our website configuration, our website may use technologies provided by Google, Meta and TikTok for analytics, measurement and advertising purposes.

These companies may process information collected through their technologies in accordance with their own privacy practices.

Your cookie choices determine whether technologies requiring consent are enabled.

14. Changes to this policy

Our website and the services we use may change over time, so we'll review this policy and update it when necessary.

The date at the top will show when it was last updated.

If we make a significant change to the way we use personal information, we'll take appropriate steps to bring it to people's attention.
