With the thought of schools possibly closing (or for many schools already closed) the idea of having the kids at home all day to entertain can fill us with dread! Especially if you are also trying to hold down a job or care for younger siblings too. A difficult task indeed. Therefore, I have created lots of free downloads for you to print and use at home catering for lots of ages of children. I am guessing if schools do close they will be providing school work/ homework to keep children learning. How To Dye Rice: The Experiment

I love to use dyed rice in sensory boxes. Natural rice is just as lovely, but bright, colourful rice can make an activity look really inviting and irrestible to touch. For many years I have used a food colouring paste to dye the rice as it's so quick and easy but recently I have noticed more and more people using poster paint so I decided to put this to the test. I dyed three lots of rice using the same method. I used poster paint from Hobbycraft, Sugarflair food colouring paste and a supermarket liquid food colouring.
